Surely You Aren’t Running Low on Vitamin B?
Many diseases can be traced to a vitamin deficiency. A common example of this is Scurvy that once seriously affected sailors. It was caused by a lack of Vitamin C. Thousands of men died from Scurvy before someone discovered that it could be prevented simply by consuming foods rich in Vitamin C.
What many people don’t realize is that there are still diseases today that are caused by poor nutrition. This is typically more common in countries where diets are lacking in fresh foods. Poorer countries report higher cases of nutrition related diseases, but the number is rising in affluent nations, too. The diets of people on the run can be rife with boxed, microwavable, and fast food. This can contribute to nutritional deficiencies even in those who have plenty to eat.
The Vitamin B family, in particular, is easily depleted by the body. Vitamin B is water-soluble, so it is used quickly, and must be renewed daily, either by eating Vitamin B rich food or through vitamin supplements.
There are 8 members of the Vitamin B family. They each have their own function, but they work better when taken together. Here’s is a description of the 8, including their functions and possible indications of deficiencies.
Vitamin B1 is referred to as thiamine. It helps lift your mood, supports your heart, and aids in the metabolism of carbohydrates. A lack of Vitamin B1 can cause emotional disturbances, reduced sensory perception, weight loss, weakness and pain in the arms and legs, swelling, and irregular heartbeat. The worst cases can produce beriberi, irreversible psychosis, or heart failure.
Vitamin B2 is called riboflavin. This micronutrient aids in cellular function, such as metabolism of foods and production of red blood cells. A deficit of riboflavin in the body can be indicated by cracks in the corners of the mouth, a sore tongue or mouth, swelling of the mucous membranes, or scaly patches of skin on the scalp. There’s growing evidence that Vitamin B2 also helps in preventing migraine headaches and cataracts.
Niacin, or Vitamin B3, aids in the release of energy from nutrients. Niacin also supports healthy skin, nerves, and digestive system. Indications of a niacin deficiency include digestive problems, difficulty sleeping, fatigue, confusion, or diarrhea. In advanced cases, deficiency can lead to dementia, pellagra, or death.
Vitamin B5 is pantothenic acid. It assists with a healthy nervous system, and also aids in metabolism. Signals of a deficit of Vitamin B5 include acne and a prickling of the skin in the extremeties.
Vitamin B6 is referred to as pyridoxene. Vitamin B6 aids in the production of red blood cells, supports an intact immune system, and helps maintain proper nerve function. Deficiencies in pyridoxene show as cracks in the corners of the mouth, skin rashes, water retention and high blood pressure.
Vitamin B7 is also known as biotin. Biotin supports healthy hair and nails, and helps release energy from carbohydrates. Signals of a biotin deficit include dry skin, scaly patches on the scalp, fungal infections, brittle hair, hair loss, depression, muscle pains, nausea, vomiting, or anorexia.
Vitamin B9 is called folic acid. Folic acid helps with the formation of hemoglobin, and is critically important for pregnant women. A deficit of folic acid in an expectant mother may produce birth defects in her baby. Indications of Vitamin B9 deficiency include anemia, irritability, trouble breathing, fatigue, weight loss, menstrual problems, or leg ulcers.
Vitamin B12 is referred to as cobalamin. It’s necessary for a healthy nervous system and the production of red blood cells. A lack can cause anemia, poor memory, and numbness in the arms or legs. Severe cases can cause psychosis or paralysis.

Buy wu yi tea for a healthy diet
Wu Yi diet tea (Oolong) is a semi-oxidized tea, which combines the best qualities from both black and green tea. This Chinese tea is as strong and fresh as black tea, yet as fragrant and clear as green tea. When I drink it, I find the natural aroma lingers in my mouth and it makes my throat feel relaxed.
This special tea is not only helpful as part of a weight loss diet, but may also be anti-aging, improve your immune system, lower blood pressure, support your heart and help your digestive system. All this from a cup of tea!
If you are looking to buy wu yi tea, then you probably already know that it is an amazing Chinese tea that burns fat and also has additional health benefits. If you are not sure where to purchase wu yi tea, then let me tell you that there are many specialist online websites where you can shop and have it delivered direct to your door.
When I first considered where can I purchase wu yi tea, I was also looking for someone that sold a wide range of herbal tea as well as organic tea. By doing an Internet search I was able to find a website that catered to all my needs and was also very informative, providing a wide range of articles on tea culture and its health benefits.
As this process of fine plucking produces low yields, this means that it takes two or three thousand leaves to make a pound of tea. This should always be taken into account when you buy Wu Long tea, as it will not be cheap, although there are some inferior tea bags around. And before you go… alyways consult a physician for a medical advice before starting any weightloss program.
Hey Artists! - Your Digital Camera Can Help You Learn To Draw
If you are learning to draw a digital camera can be a handy tool . Some people like to draw only from their imagination but others like to have a reference to work from. Life drawing is also something you can do, if you can get people to pose for you or if you like to draw still lifes or landscapes.
If you want to learn to draw animals or you’re interested in learning to draw people, working from a photo reference makes things much easier. And having a digital camera gives you almost endless possibilities when it comes to subject matter for your artwork. The beauty of having a digital camera is that with enough memory and sufficient battery life you can snapphotos all day long and you’re bound to come out with at least a handful of photo references that would make fantastic drawings.
I enjoy drawing animals, so what I will do is go to the zoo and takes several hundred pictures. I know that sounds like a lot but my camera has a feature where I can hold down the button and snap four or five pictures in rapid succession. This is a great feature to have with your camera because if you are photographing an animal that is moving you can take a bunch of pictures and then choose the one that is just right. For example if an animal is walking sometimes the legs may be in an awkward looking position in your photograph. But if you snap five consecutive pictures while the animal is walking you can get a picture with the legs in a perfect position.
Whenever I go into online forums related to art or drawing I always see threads with people asking the question “what should I draw”? If they are interested in wildlife art I always like to recommend they grab their digital camera and take a trip to the zoo. If you want to learn to draw animals that is the best way to get all the reference material you can handle.
If you want to learn how to draw portraits your digital camera can be a valuable tool for this as well. Just ask your friends or family members to pose for you and snap away. With a digital camera you don’t have to be a professional photographer you can snap hundreds of pictures and pick out the good shots. You should consider the lighting on your subject before you start snapping pictures though. You’ll want to turn your flash off because the flash will wash out many of the shadows and it’s the contrast between light and dark that make pencil drawings interesting. You will want your subject to be well lit so taking the photo outside in natural light may be a good option.
Once you’ve taken hundreds of photos of either animals or people or whatever subject matter interests you it’s time to choose one of your photos to use as a reference. Then practice, practice, practice.
Personal Confidence Training
Summary of main points.
Confidence is a natural state which, if it’s lacking, requires you to build it up. When you have true confidence you don’t think about it, you don’t feel it, you just get on and do what you want to do.
Confidence is about being comfortable with who you are and having the skills, knowledge and habits to do what you want. It’s about being satisfied with where you are in your life’s journey right now. On this journey you can expect to learn more, change your priorities and acquire different passions and aspirations. If you’re not changing you’re just standing still. If you’re focusing only on the destination rather than the journey, then you’re introducing tension.
Whatever it is you choose to do that’s important to you requires a certain amount of knowledge, skills and habits. When you have those then you can do those important things. When you don’t have them you’ll struggle or worse, won’t even try doing even those things.
Since confidence is a natural state of being, it’s only when you have a lack of confidence that it becomes an issue.
The gap is the difference in your mind between where you think you are right now and where you think you should be. Both are made up by you, and the bigger the gap the more stressed you’ll tend to feel. Tension and stress most certainly undermine confidence.
We all have a false idea of where we currently are, but you can change both where you want to go and how you perceive things right now. Learning to be mindful about your daily life will get you more rooted in the here and now. Rather than slowing you down it allows you to remove distractions, allowing you to focus more of your energy on living the life you have. And the amazing things - that boosts your confidence.
